The general concept of the card game is to be given cards adding up to 21. Each competitor is assigned two cards. When a player is given a nine or lower value card and an Ace they have been given a soft hand. When the black jack player receives no Ace it is called as a hard hand. As soon as the cards have been handed to every player at the table, including the dealer, each player is provided the opportunity to make one of six actions:
Taking another card (Hit): When a gambler says "hit me" the dealer will deal him another card, if the addition of that card makes the value of the hand to exceed twenty-one the gambler will have lost and that’s the end of the game, if the card makes the total to twenty-one the blackjack player will be the winner and if the total hasn’t yet reached 21 they are still in the game.
Keeping the hand you have been given: If a black jack player is satisfied with the cards they’ll stand. As soon as this has happened the dealer will disclose his or her hand and the gambler who has accumulated twenty one or the closet to 21 will win.
Doubling Down: A black jack player may request to double down which doubles the wager they have laid. As soon as you have taken this action you can only receive 1 additional card. The details of doubling down are often specified by the table or casino game rules so before betting be sure you’re comfortable with the house rules.
